After launching its new generation flagship, the LS500, at the Detroit Motor Show earlier this year, and the LS500h at the Geneva Motor Show; Lexus has announced that it will debut the LS500 F ahead of the 2017 New York Motor Show.
The F-Sport package for the LS flagship will pack in a lowered suspension, sporty wheels, bigger set of brakes and an all-around body kit with an improved ride and handling. The interior will receive a fine touch of performance essence as well. The extended global architecture for luxury vehicles (GA-L) platform on which the LS is based is the stiffest ever that Lexus has produced. This will help the LS F with an enhanced handling, ride smoothness and cabin quietness, asserts the Japanese carmaker. A specially tuned suspension and a limited-slip rear differential will be a part of the F Sport upgrade.
Lexus is tight-lipped about what will be powering the LS500 F, but as the name suggests the same engine option from the LS500 and LS500h will be available albeit with a performance tuning and a bump in power figures. So expect the best use of the 3.5-litre twin-turbo V6 engine to churn out between 450-500bhp and a ground-shaking 600-800Nm of torque. Transmission option will be the same as the newly developed 10-speed automatic.
The all-new Lexus LS500 F will be showcased in all its glory at the New York stage. More details will surface soon. Stay tuned to CarWale for all the news and developments from the New York Motor Show.
