Toyota’s premium brand Lexus has finally been introduced in the country with three models - the RX Luxury crossover, RX F-Sport SUV and the ES300 Hybrid sedan. Initially all the models will be sold in the country via the CBU route, which will mean that the vehicles will be higher priced. The ex-showroom, Mumbai prices for the RX Luxury crossover, RX F-Sport SUV and the ES300 Hybrid are Rs 1.07 crore, Rs 1.09 crore and Rs 55 lakh, respectively.
The Lexus ES300h with a hybrid system is powered by a 2.5-litre four-cylinder Atkinson cycle petrol engine that generates a combined power output figure of 196bhp of power and 233Nm of torque. The decently powered engine comes mated to an E-CVT transmission. The vehicle shares its platform with the Camry and also carries a few interior details with the popular sedan. The newly launched Lexus ES300h emerges a strong competitor against the likes of Mercedes-Benz E-Class, Audi A6 and the BMW 5 series. In terms of design, the sedan gets a bold signature spindle grille with chrome, sharp LED headlamps and unique L-shaped taillight. The vehicle sits on 17-inch alloy wheels and new existing colour options.
The Lexus RX450h is powered by a 3.5-litre V6 VVT-i petrol engine that generates 257bhp of power and 335Nm of torque. The powerful engine come mated to an E-CVT transmission that powers the all-wheel drive system. In terms of dimensions, it measures 4,889mm in length, 1899mm wide, 1719mm height and has a wheelbase of 2789mm wheelbase. The newly launched model competes against the likes of Volvo T8 Plug-in hybrid and Audi Q7 in the country.
