Lewis Hamilton entertained Mumbai crowd at the Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC) yesterday, as part of the Vodafone Speed Fest. The Formula1 star driver did multiple laps in a F1 car under lights and also took few lucky fans for a spin in the Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG.
The one-of-a-kind night experience witnessed massive turnout supporting the veteran McLaren driver. The event was flagged off by Maharashtra Chief Minister, Prithviraj Chavan, accompanied by Tourism minister, Chhagan Bhujbal, in presence of host of other dignitaries.
Hamilton’s first stint was marred by slight drizzle, which made the concrete surface more slippery than usual. However, on his second run the ace driver did more than few doughnuts, much to the delight of the crowd. The car touched speeds well over 220kph, which in his words was “just not that fast enough”.
