Vodafone, thanks to its association with the McLaren Mercedes formula one team, will bring 2008 world champion Lewis Hamilton to burn some Pirelli rubber on the streets of Mumbai. The event will be held at Marine Drive on the evening of September 16, just a week before the Singapore Grand Prix.
Lewis will drive his Vodafone McLaren Mercedes MP4-27 along the Queen’s necklace (Marine Drive) that will be made to look like a Formula 1 race track complete with grand stand and pit garage.
Speaking about the event, Marten Pieters, MD and CEO, Vodafone India, “Vodafone shares an exclusive relationship with McLaren Mercedes which gives us access to the team, the drivers and other assets which enables us to provide our customers unique content and enjoy great experiential events and promotions. Our activities in India are an extension of this association. I am very excited that we can bring Lewis Hamilton to India.”Hamilton, who made a speed run in Bengaluru last year, is equally excited. “I always love coming to India and I am really excited to be coming to the city of Mumbai this time,” he said.
