-To be unveiled on 4 November
-Radical changes to the exterior and interior
Maruti Suzuki’s next big thing this year after the Swift launch is the new-gen Dzire, which is set to debut on 4 November. Ahead of the official unveiling, the updated sedan has been leaked completely revealing all its exterior and interior even before any official teaser.
The cabin of the new-gen Dzire gets a radical update over the previous iteration. However, it is a lot similar to that of the new Swift. The biggest highlight is the free-standing infotainment screen sitting on top of the layered dashboard design with a three-tone finish. The AC vent also gets revisions with the HVAC panel being taken from the new Swift. Notably, the steering wheel also gets a refreshed design, barring the analogue dials for the instrument panel.
As for the features, the new Dzire will be equipped with cruise control, automatic climate control, 360-degree camera, and an electric sunroof, which is not only first for the Dzire range but also for the segment.
On the outside, the front and the rear profile are the ones that get major overhaul with revised grille, sleeker headlamps with DRLs, and new patterned taillamps. Furthermore, the side profile is more or less identical to the previous version apart from the new set of alloy wheels.
Mechanically, the new-gen Dzire will borrow the 1.2-litre Z-series engine from the Swift. This motor will be shipped with a five-speed manual and an AMT gearbox with a maximum power output of 80bhp and 112Nm of peak torque.
The Maruti Dzire has consistently been the best seller in its class, competing with rivals like the Tata Tigor and the Honda Amaze. With this new update, its sales volume is likely to increase even further.
