The latest-generation Audi TT has arrived in the UK with on-road prices starting at £29,770 (Rs 30.73 lakh). According to the brand, the two sports coupe is now available to order in the UK, ahead of first deliveries in December.
The new TT will be initially offered in two trim levels - Sport and S line. Both include Audi’s highlighting new feature in the form of a virtual cockpit, which is based around a 12.3-inch, high resolution LCD display that fills the driver’s instrument binnacle and replaces the traditional analogue dials. The images on the screen are courtesy a powerful Tegra 30 graphics processor from Nvidia’s Tegra 3 series.
For the new TT, Audi is also offering the matrix LED headlights first shown in the A8 luxury sedan. The advanced headlight technology is being offered as an optional extra though. Other optional features include a 12-speaker Bang & Olufsen audio system and a Technology Package that includes GPS navigation and internet connectivity.
The car will be offered with both petrol and diesel engine options. The 2-litre TFSI – one of two engine options available at launch – is a Euro 6-compliant four-cylinder unit that combines direct and indirect fuel injection for optimal combustion. It develops 230bhp of power and 370Nm of torque. The diesel model, meanwhile, will get a 2.0-litre TDI engine that churns out 184bhp and 380Nm of torque.
While the petrol engine is combined with either front-wheel-drive and a 6-speed manual gearbox or quattro all-wheel-drive and a 6-speed S tronic twin-clutch gearbox, the diesel is available only with a 6-speed manual sending power to the front wheels.
The new Audi TT is now on sale in the UK. As before, the car competes with the Porsche Cayman, the Nissan 370Z and the Peugeot RCZ coupe in the UK. As for the Indian market, this new generation of the TT has been spotted on test quite a few times suggesting that the launch is imminent.
