- Land Rover begins sale of locally manufactured Range Rover Velar.
- Available in single trim – R Dynamic-S across both petrol and diesel engine options.
Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) has commenced the manufacturing of the Velar in India at their Pune facility. Available in single R Dynamic-S trim, the locally manufactured Velar’s price begins from Rs 72.47 lakhs (ex-showroom all-India). The premium SUV can be had with 2.0-litre petrol and diesel engine options.
Bookings for the locally assembled Velar commenced almost a month ago. The R Dynamic-S trim comes loaded with progressive design luxury features like 10-inch Touch Pro Duo infotainment system, activity key, Wi-Fi and pro services, 380W Meridian sound system, panoramic sunroof, four-zone climate control, cabin air ionisation, premium leather interiors, and 20-inch wheels with full-size spare wheel.
Apart from that, the feature list includes R-Dynamic exterior pack, adaptive dynamics, premium LED headlights with signature LED DRL and park assist. The India-built Velar also comes fitted with All Terrain Progress Control (ATPC) system. What’s more, the Velar also gets Activity Key wristband which negates the need to carry a conventional key fob. Under the hood, there are two powertrain choices – the 2.0-litre petrol making 246bhp and 400Nm while the diesel is the 2.0-litre unit with 177bhp and 430Nm.
Speaking on the occasion, Rohit Suri, president and managing director, Jaguar Land Rover India Ltd, said, “Since its launch in 2018, the Range Rover Velar has received an overwhelming response from customers across the country. Now, with the introduction of the locally manufactured Range Rover Velar, we are able to offer this iconic, award-winning product at a very attractive and compelling price than before. This will enable more Range Rover fans in India to own and drive this striking, good looking and distinctive vehicle.”
