Land Rover USA has officially announced that it has recalled two vehicles. Yes, you read it right. That’s each unit of the Range Rover Sport and the Discovery 4 (dubbed LR4 in the US) over issues relating to powertrain of both these models.
The brand is recalling a 2015 Range Rover Sport manufactured on November 16, 2014, and another 2015 model, a Discovery 4 (LR4) manufactured on November 11, 2014. In the affected vehicles, the 3-litre V6 supercharged engines may have improperly torqued connecting rod bolts. As a result, the connecting rod may separate from the crankshaft and the engine may seize and if the engine seizes there is a possibility of a crash.
Land Rover has announced that it will notify owners of these models and that its dealers will replace the entire engines, free of charge.
