Not long ago, Land Rover USA recalled just two examples of the Range Rover Sport and the Discovery 4 (labelled LR4 in the US) over issues relating to powertrain of both these models. While we are hoping the vehicles are fixed and running well by now, Land Rover has issued another recall for over 2,500 units of the 2015 LR4.
Land Rover is recalling 2015 LR4 vehicles manufactured August 19, 2014, to February 9, 2015. The brand has stated the ABS software error as casualty, due to which the Dynamic Stability Control, Roll Stability Control, Traction Control and Hill Decent Control systems may be disabled. The disability of these systems may incur loss of stability, increasing the risk of crash.
As for remedy, Land Rover has announced that it will notify owners, and official dealers will update the ABS software, free of charge. The recall is expected to commence starting June 5, 2015.
