Land Rover has just revealed a first look inside the new Discovery Sport with the release of a short film showing glimpses of the cabin design. The bold new compact SUV is the first member of the new Discovery family which will replace the ageing Freelander.
Inspired by the Discovery Vision Concept, the new Discovery Sport will feature 5+2 seating as standard in the UK. In the film, the company has revealed the car’s flexible seating configuration and premium features such as the big infotainment screen, leather upholstery and the full panoramic roof.
When launched, the Discovery Sport will be the only vehicle in its class to offer a seven-seater configuration as the existing Audi Q5 and the BMW X3 are only available as five-seaters. That said, the Discovery Sport’s third row will be relatively small as compared to a full-size seven-seater such as the new Range Rover Sport.
Full details on the new Discovery Sport will be available by September 3 because that’s when the SUV will be officially revealed. The model will replace the existing Freelander when it is launched sometime next year. Expect Land Rover to sell this new Discovery Sport in India late next year.
