Land Rover has opened bookings for the 2016 Evoque crossover. It will be launched in November and features cosmetic as well as mechanical changes. It was unveiled in February this year and then launched at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show.
External changes include a redesigned face which comprises a new bumper, bigger air intakes as well adaptive headlamps. Moving over to the side, we can see a new design for the alloy wheels while the rear gets a new design for the tail lamps as well as a tail gate spoiler.
The cabin has the same layout and elements but what is new is the eight-inch touchscreen display and seats. The All-Terrain Progress Control system (ATPC) has now been borrowed from the Range Rover line of vehicles.
In terms of mechanicals, the Evoque now gets the all-aluminium Ingenium TD4 turbo diesel engine. It is 25kgs lighter than the previous engine and is expected to be available in the 180bhp state of tune when launched in India.
Bookings for the vehicle are now open across all Land Rover dealerships in the country. Commenting on the occasion, Rohit Suri, president of JLR India said, “Over the years, the response to the Range Rover Evoque has been phenomenal across the world and India has been no exception. With its striking lines, muscular shoulder and tapered roof, the 2016 Range Rover Evoque sets itself apart from its contemporaries and is loved by the young at heart who want to make an ultimate statement of their style and individuality. The fabulous design, coupled with class-leading technology and luxury features make the 2016 Range Rover Evoque an unbeatable choice.”
