Land Rover Discovery Sport introduced with a 2.0-litre diesel engine

Land Rover Discovery Sport, a popular choice in the premium SUV segment in the country, now gets a 2.0-litre Ingenium diesel engine. This new unit comes as a replacement to the older 2.2-litre diesel engine. With this, the premium automaker Jaguar Land Rover has discontinued using the older bigger diesel unit across its model in India.    

Under the hood, the Discovery Sport is now offered with a new 2.0-litre, 4-cylinder Ingenium diesel engine that is offered in two state of tune – 148bhp/382Nm of torque and 177bhp/430Nm of torque. This powerful version is limited to top-spec HSE Luxury variant only, while the rest get 148bhp producing unit. All the variants come mated to a nine-speed automatic gearbox. For those interested in a petrol variant, the HSE trim is offered with a 2.0-litre, 4-cylinder engine that generates 237bhp and 340Nm of torque.

Changes in the Land Rover Discover Sport is limited to a revised diesel engine and the premium SUV continues to be offered with existing features. The prices (Ex-showroom, Mumbai) for the Land Rover Discover Sport is as follows –

2.0 Diesel Pure - Rs. 50.72 lakh

2.0 Diesel SE - Rs. 57 lakh

2.0 Diesel HSE - Rs. 60.86 lakh

2.0 Petrol HSE - Rs. 59.81 lakh  

2.0 Diesel HSE Luxury - Rs. 64.76 lakh
