The China-spec Land Rover Discovery has been unveiled at the ongoing 2015 Chengdu Auto Show. It will go on sale in the Chinese market at the beginning of next year and will have prices starting from 450,000 Yuan (Rs 47.21 lakh).
It will be manufactured under the Chery-JLR JV alongside the Range Rover Evoque. In terms of external and cabin design, the China-spec model is no different from the UK-spec model save for the Chinese badging.
China gets a single engine option of 2.0-litre four-cylinder petrol mill producing 240bhp and is mated to a nine-speed AT. Reports suggest that this engine will be replaced by a newer and more modern unit by the end of next year.
The car was launched for the Indian market last week at a price of Rs 46.10 lakh (ex-showroom Mumbai) and is being offered in four variants with a single diesel 2.2-litre four-cylinder diesel engine.
