Lamborghini has made it official that its range of exotic supercars will see the joining of a luxury SUV. The Italian marquee has announced that the latter will be introduced as a third model to join its product range.
The upcoming SUV will be introduced sometime in 2018. Lamborghini has already previewed it in the form of the Urus concept shown at the 2012 Beijing auto show.
The new model will be produced in Sant’Agata Bolognese and will herald additional growth for Lamborghini with the expansion of its product range. The launch of the SUV will also mark a substantial increase in the production capacity of the factory. Over the lifecycle of the new vehicle Lamborghini will invest hundreds of millions of Euros.
Lamborghini has revealed the three major markets for its new model as Europe, America and Asia Pacific. Target markets, meanwhile, will be primarily the USA, China, the Middle East, United Kingdom, Germany and Russia.
The annual volumes for the luxury SUV will be around 3,000 vehicles which will double the company’s current sales performance.
