Lamborghini India is all set to launch the new Aventador Superveloce Jota (SVJ) at an event in Bangalore tomorrow. A road car with track-star pedigree and performance, the SVJ, is currently the king of the Nurburgring.
And it's rightly called so, as this Lamborghini flagship model has set a record for the fastest lap for any production car at Germany's Nurburgring Nordschleife circuit. A lap time of 6:44:97 for this 12.9 mile course has put it way ahead of the Porsche 911 GT2 RS, which had snatched away the title from the Huracan Performante in 2017. This four-wheel-drive car is constructed of carbon fibre and aluminium, and features SVJ's patented Aerodinamica Lamborghini Attiva 2.0 active-aero system. The latter one is automatically employed with the help of the front splitter and rear wing whenever the driving dynamics warrant a need. This, along with the four-wheel steering, better aero-loading to the inner wheel and an enhanced suspension help it hug the turns even better.
The Sant'Agata Bolognese's latest Raging Bull gets a naturally aspirated 6.5-litre V12 engine putting out 759bhp and 720Nm of torque. It comes mated to a seven-speed Independent Shifting Rod transmission. The SVJ can do the 0-100kmph sprint in just 2.8 seconds, while going on to attain a top speed of 349kmph.
Lamborghini’s Aventador model might be in the final years of its production, which only makes this SVJ even more unique. Now with all the specifications already available, just putting a price tag on it is what's left and what fans and aficionados are waiting for. More details on this tomorrow right from the launch. Stay tuned.
