Lamborghini will reveal their “first super SUV” to the world on 4 December. Ahead of the Lambo SUV’s premiere, we expect a plethora of teasers from the Italian marquee in the days to come. The SUV was first teased taking on the sand dunes, flying over them even, demonstrating its first-ever SABBIA driving mode.
Sabbia is Italian for Sand. The Urus will also five other driving modes – Strada, Sport, Corsa, Terra (land), and Neve (snow). In the teaser video, we also get a small glimpse of the ANIMA (Adaptive Network Intelligence Management) selector lever. This dynamic driving mode is scrounged from the Huracan and Aventador supercars.
Lamborghini hasn’t divulged many details regarding the Urus yet. But we know that the high-riding Bull will be powered by a 4.0-litre V8 belting out more than 650bhp. It will share its underpinning with the SUVs of the VW Group which includes the Audi Q7, Porsche Cayenne, and Bentley Bentayga. Even the upcoming Volkswagen Toureg will use the same MLB Evo platform. The SUV will also have the four-wheel-steering from the Aventador S, given that the new Porsche Cayenne has it as well. Our spy sleuths have captured the Urus being tested on many occasions, even on the notorious Nurburgring.
The Urus will be manufactured at the same factory in Sant’ Agata Bolognese, Italy along with the other two Raging Bulls. The SUV Lambo is promised to double the production capacity of the plant when it rolls out in 2019. Stay tuned to CarWale for more updates on the upcoming Lamborghini Urus.
