The iconic Lamborghini Gallardo ended its successful 10 -year run with a whole host of special editions and most importantly, one make race series called the Gallardo Super Trofeo that was run in Europe, North America and Asia. Now with the retirement of the Gallardo, its successor the Huracan will take its place and be the race car in the Huracan Super Trofeo series. Oh and as the headline says, the car has been teased ahead of its official debut.
Reports suggest that the car has already undergone a shakedown at the Vallelunga circuit outside of Rome by the Italian supercar maker’s test team which means it has been in development for more than a year now.
What can we guess about the Huracan Super Trofeo? It will be powered by the 5.2-litre V10 engine but in race guise is expected to produce at least 700bhp and 700Nm of torque. The gearbox will be the single-clutch seven-speed automated manual sending power to all four -wheels. In terms of design, it will be a stripped out carbon fibre- filled two-seater land rocket meant to push the racers to their outer limit.
The racing series will be phased in across all three regions but those who want to continue with the Gallardo can do in a separate class.
