Lamborghini Huracan was unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show and ever since the car has been showcased across the world. The response to the car has been positive and Lamborghini even received 1,000 orders for the car. The surprising fact is that the Italian sports car maker wants more female buyers for the Huracan.
Lamborghini president and CEO, Stephan Winkelmann, said, “We would be happy if the Huracan would find many female customers. We have lots of women who love Lamborghinis, but very few who drive them. The Huracan could change that.”
Lamborghini has given the car to be more ‘accessible’ to a wider customer base which will also include first time supercar buyers. Despite the power going up to 602bhp, the Huracan is more driveable than the Gallardo. The car gets 75 per cent of its torque available from 1,000 revs emphasising easy driving.
Currently, women buyers form a very small proportion of Lamborghini’s customer base globally. Lamborghini sold 22 cars last year in India, and that number didn’t have a single woman buyer. Lamborghini believe women are very influential when it comes to buying decisions and they also tend to drive these supercars once in a while.
The Huracan’s styling is a little sedate by Lamborghini’s standards, however this might find favours with purists who have the money to spend but want a sports car that is less flamboyant.
