Lamborghini made history with the Aventador SVJ by going around the infamous Nurburgring race track in record time and even beat the insane Porsche 911 GT2 RS while at it. While the car was in complete camouflage when it did the run, the launch is just around the corner and just like other exotic car manufacturers, Lamborghini is busy letting teasers out. Along with the teaser image which shows a portion of the front of the car, Lamborghini has also let out a statement saying, ‘will blow your mind’.
From reports we understand that the car is running a 6.5 litre V12 making 760bhp, which 20bhp up over the standard car. Like the Performante, the SVJ will also get Lamborghini's Aerodinamica Lamborghini Attiva (ALA) active aerodynamics system. The aero system uses a pair of flaps in the front splitter that open and close to either disrupt airflow or maximize downforce. Channels in the rear wing work in a very similar fashion.
More importantly the SVJ will be the final car to feature a non-hybrid V-12 engine. The Aventador's successor, possibly due in 2022, will likely introduce a hybrid V-12 engine to preserve the mill for at least some more time. The SVJ will officially debut at the Monterey Car Week, which begins on August 18.
