The Lamborghini Hurcan line will get a new addition in mid-2017 when the company launches a high performance version called the Performante. It is expected to be a track focussed vehicle and will have all the usual stuff that make a fast Lamborghini even faster.
It is nothing new that Lamborghini is making a ‘higher’ performance model of the car but this is probably the first time that the automaker is moving away from the SV (Super Veloce) name. This includes higher output from the engine, massive aero dynamics package as well as a slightly stripped out interior to give it a sporty feel. Much of the technology is expected to come from the Italian automaker’s GT3 race car which uses a significant amount of carbon fibre to reduce weight from the standard car’s 1.4-tonne kerb weight.
It will make its debut at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show and in all likelihood carry a limited production which is expected to be sold out even before the raging bull makes an official announcement.
