Close on the heels of the international launch of the Huracan LP580-2, Lamborghini has brought this two-wheel drive iteration to the Indian market for Rs 2.99 crore (ex-showroom Delhi).
The Huracan LP580-2 uses the same 5.2-litre V10 engine that has been detuned to produce 572bhp and 560Nm of torque, down from the 602bhp that the LP610-4 makes. The shift to rear wheel drive has called for changes to the overall dynamics and engineers have tuned the suspension and tweaked the power-management system to help release the power to the wheels effectively. While the LP610-4 does the 0-100 sprint in a claimed 3.2 seconds, the less powered sibling will do the same in 3.4 seconds and go on to hit a top speed of 320kmph.
Cylinder deactivation is carried out to save fuel as and when the engine is not working at full capacity. The LP580-2 also gains from a drop in kerb weight and weighs at 1389kg, 33 kilos lighter than its stable mate. The looks of the car have been slightly redesigned, both front and rear, to differentiate it from the AWD version.
Lamborghini claims that the Lamborghini LP580-2 has been designed and engineered to provide perfect rear-wheel driving fun.
