Lamborghini has announced the launch of their new roadster the Huracan Spyder in India. Along with the launch of their new model, Lamborghini will also inaugurate a new showroom in Mumbai on 5th of May, 2016.
The Huracan Spyder is based on the Huracan LP 610-4 coupe with an identical powertrain and gearbox combination. This means the 6.2L V10 motor churns out 602bhp and 560Nm of torque and comes mated to a seven-speed dual clutch gearbox with all-wheel drive. Those figures are enough to propel the Spyder from 0 – 100kph in just 3.4 seconds, a mere 0.2 seconds slower than the coupe.
The Spyder gets a hydraulically controlled soft-top roof which can be lowered or raised in 17 seconds. The Huracan’s roof can also be operated when the car is doing speeds of up to 50kph. To improve the Spyder’s aerodynamics and to aid the airflow to the engine compartment, Lamborghini has added two fins which rise from the rear of the seats when the roof is folded down.
The launch will take place in the new Lamborghini Mumbai showroom and the car is expected to be priced at Rs 3.43 crore (ex-showroom).
