- Huracan took five years to achieve 14,022 production milestone for which the Gallardo took 10 years
- The number 14,022 Huracan is the Evo version finished in Grigio Titans (grey)
It is a known fact that the Gallardo has till date remained the highest selling Lamborghini in history. In its 10 years of production run between 2003 and 2013, Lamborghini rolled out exactly 14022 Gallardos from their factory in Sant Agata Bolognese. Now, replacement to the Gallardo, the Huracan, has hit a new production record – it smashed Gallardo’s sales number, and took only half the time to do it.
The Huracan took just five years to hit the same production number as the Gallardo. The chassis number 14022 of the Huracan is a commemorative model in the Evo coupe guise, finished in Grigio Titans paint scheme and is destined for the Korean market, says Lamborghini. The Huracan debuted in 2014 as a successor to the iconic Gallardo and has received a plethora of revisions ever since. In 2017, it broke the prestigious Nurburgring record with the Performante version. And this year, Lamborghini introduced the Evo which we drove at the MMRT in India and you can read about it over here.
The newly introduced Urus could also be considered as one of the reasons for Lamborghini’s increase in H1 2019 sales by a whopping 96 per cent. In a total of 4553 cars between the period of January and June, the Huracan accounted for 1211 units. Meanwhile, the flagship Aventador continues to find takers (649 units sold) even after being around for more than eight years.
