Lamborghini revealed the hardcore Huracan Performante last year. And it went on to claim the title of the “King of the Ring” setting a blistering time record of 6.52 minutes. Although the record was broken shortly after, Lamborghini went on to conquer many other race tracks, clocking fastest time on each proving grounds. This was the highlight of the video which Lamborghini has teased for an all-new Performante. And in all likeliness, it is the drop-top Spyder which will debut at the Geneva Motor Show.
It comes as no surprise since our spy sleuths have already captured the soft-top Performante Spyder on a couple of occasions and once with bare minimum camouflage. In the teaser video, the Performante Spyder zipping past is finished in the same blue hue which can be seen on the standard Huracan Spyder. The mechanicals of the Performante will be retained which means the screaming 5.2-litre V10 will punch out 630bhp of raw power and 600Nm of turning force. The Performante can hit 100kmph in around 3.1 seconds before scrambling to a 325kmph top speed. Expect only slight changes to these timing figures in the drop top Performante.
The Performante Spyder will retain the massive rear wing and the aggressive diffusers at the rear. The magnificent symphony of the sports exhaust will be better enjoyed with the top down. Meanwhile, the specially designed air vents from the unique Aerodinamica Lamborghini Attiva (ALA) aerodynamics package will remain unchanged. Everything else will be carried forward too.
Expect a slightly higher price tag for the Performante Spyder compared to the coupe. It is expected to go on sale slightly after the debut at the Geneva stage. Lamborghini might promptly bring in the Huracan Performante Spyder to India in the same fashion as the standard Performante which was launched in the country just a few months after its global premiere.
