Lamborghini has launched the new ‘King of the Ring’ Huracan in India at Rs 3.97 crore (All-India ex-showroom). The Huracan Performante was unveiled at the 2017 Geneva Motor Show with an already stellar reputation of being the fastest production car on the notorious Nordschleife Nurburgring with a lap record of 6:52.01 minutes.
The Huracan Performante boasts of a new active aerodynamics package with aero vectoring, a new chassis set-up and an all-wheel-drive system to enhance the performance of the revised powertrain in the most mind-boggling manner. The revised powertrain, which is the 5.2-litre V10, now produces a whopping 631bhp and 600Nm torque, sending the baby Lambo whizzing past from zero to 100kmph in a mere 2.9 seconds. The Lambo also sports bespoke Pirelli tyres, extensive carbon fibre and forged composite components, the Aerodinamica Lamborghini Attiva (ALA), Lamborghini's Piattaforma Inerziale (LPI) and a few other avant-garde Italian technologies, all work in harmony to make the Huracan Performante the fastest production car to lap the Green Hell ever.
And unlike other German manufacturers, who strip down the car to make it go faster, the Performante is as luxurious on the inside as it is fast. The Alcantara-adorned cabin with forged composite air vents, paddles, door handles and the centre console all scream out performance in the most subtle fashion. The new cockpit layout supports Apple CarPlay connectivity along with Lamborghini telemetry system, which allows the driver to record, replay and study his own performance. The new digital cockpit displays are configurable, depending on driving mode – Strada, Sport or Corsa, with a special display screen for the ALA graphs data on downforce and drag, which shows when and how the ALA is working, including aero-vectoring.
The Performante becomes the most expensive Huracan on sale in India. So the lucky few owners who buy this crazy Italian beast will also get a performance machine with an accomplishment of conquering one of the toughest race tracks in the world, the Green Hell. However, if you are looking to buy one, you will have to wait until next year. That's because all the limited-production units of Performante which were allotted for India this year have already been sold out.
