Lamborghini has told reporters that their Urus crossover will make 650bhp and should be in European showrooms by the second quarter of 2018.
The company has also disclosed that the plug-in hybrid model of the Urus is slated to debut in the European market in 2019, which is a year after the regular model will be introduced. As a matter of fact, the CEO of Lamborghini, Stefano Domenicali has also added that the Urus will be powered by the 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 motor, which confirms the speculations that have been made so far.
Sources state that Lamborghini banks on the Urus sports crossover to do well for them considering the rise in demand for crossovers/SUVs in recent times. Reports also disclose that Lamborghini plans to make around 1,000 Urus’ in 2018 and increase output to 3,500 units before the end of 2019. It is believed that Lamborghini has already begun production rounds of the Urus in April this year, and it should only be a matter of time when our spy photographers will bring us shots of this much awaited performance-oriented crossover. Stay tuned to CarWale for more news in the months to come.
