Lamborghini during the 2013 Shanghai Auto Show has confirmed that a successor to the Gallardo is currently under development. The Gallardo was launched as an all-new car and has been sold along- side the Murcielago from 2001 to 2010 and now with Aventador from 2011 onwards.
While the company has refused to specify much more we believe that the car will be called the Carbrera and will be powered by the ‘baby of the Raging Bull line up’ standard naturally aspirated V10 engine. The engine will most likely produce 601PS and an equal amount of torque. It is expected to be underpinned by a standard platform that is currently being developed by Porsche for all the super cars under the VW umbrella.
The development of the Carbrera is expected to aid in the creation of a successor to the Audi R8 and the next generation Porsche 911 GT3. The car is expected to make its debut at the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show and will be launched next year.
