Pictures of the Lamborghini Aventador Anniversario edition have leaked ahead of the cars debut at the 2013 Shanghai Motor Show. As the name suggest, the car, officially called the LP720-4 50 Anniversario, has been created to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Raging Bull.
The car has been painted in a combination of yellow and black and will be powered by a tweaked version of the Aventador’s 6.5-litre V12 mill that has now been tuned to produce 720PS and equally large amount of torque. We believe that it will use the same seven-speed semi-automatic gearbox and Haldex 4WD system to transmit power to all four wheels.
The effect of all this power is a 0-100kmph time of just 2.9 seconds and a top speed of 350kmph. The car also gets a special carbon fibre body kit that is reportedly 50 per cent more efficient than before. The interiors too have been trimmed out in the same shade of yellow but by the look of it have the same features and accessories as the standard coupe.
This is the second special edition based on the Aventador in lieu of the company’s 50th anniversary. Lamborghini, had previously unveiled the Veneno during the Geneva Motor Show. It has a limited run of just three cars and costs 4.6 million USD. This car, on the other hand, is likely to have a production run of 100 units. However, no price has been specified.
It is likely that this model has been aimed at the Chinese car market as it is currently the fastest growing in the world and it seems that everyone wants a slice of the pie.
