South African drivers, Jeffrey and Robyn Kruger continue to astonish as they dominate at both the qualifying as well as Round 1 of the Polo R Cup organized by Volkswagen at the Buddha International Circuit. Jeffrey ranked number one while his sister held second position.
Rahil Noorani from Mumbai, placed third, is the fastest Indian on the circuit and is also a strong contender for the Championship. He stood second in the Championship standings. Prashant Tharani, the leader in Championship standings before this round, started sixth and managed to place himself in fourth position. Hanoosh Supraneni who started seventh was slotted into fifth position.
The Krugers were unbeatable as they topped the list of provisional results for Race 1 of Round 4 at the Volkswagen Polo R Cup. Robyn Kruger drove as the guest driver for this round. Both the siblings pulled away from the pack of drivers at the race securing their leading positions and continuing to dominate.
Jeffrey Kruger, on securing the first position said, “It was a great race with my sister and I am happy to have come out in front. Going into the first corner we were side-by-side but I managed to stay ahead. After that I kept pushing lap after lap and managed to build a good lead. I am very happy to win again as I love driving on this circuit.”
Prithviraj Siddappa, Head of Motorsports, said, “The final round of the Volkswagen Polo R Cup is definitely living up to its hype. It was a good battle between brother and sister and the result was just. Tomorrow's races will be even more exciting with Rahil finishing ahead of Prashanth. Both will be fighting hard for the title, I’m hoping for healthy and hard competition.”
