If a recent report from EVO is to be believed, Koenigsegg is onto something way out of the ordinary even by hypercar standards. According to the British performance car magazine, Koenigsegg’s upcoming Geneva-bound mega car – the Regera will feature a 690bhp electric motor besides a petrol power plant.
This puts the Regera directly in context with the current crop of hybrid hypercars including the Porsche 918, the LaFerrari and the McLaren P1 although the Koenigsegg, with its 690bhp motor, will have way more electric assistance to deal with. The P1’s hybrid system, for instance, develops just 177bhp of electric power.
Koenigsegg reportedly is promising that its upcoming offering will be the "most powerful and fastest accelerating production car ever". Given the Swedish brand’s outrageously powerful creations from the past, we can safely assume it to be true.
