After the brochure leak of the Koenigsegg One: 1 few days back, there were speculations adrift that this is the new customisation programme from the Swedish carmaker. These have now been cleared – One: 1 is reference to car’s power-to-weight ratio, which is maddening 1hp for every kilogram.
The One: 1 is not a one-off. Koenigsegg will be building five examples and just like the Agera R, these will be lighter than the standard model. Also the power will go up from current 1140bhp of the R version to somewhere around 1250bhp to 1350bhp, with even more weight reduction. This should bring down 0 to 100kph time to mere 2.5 seconds – making it faster than the Bugatti Veyron Super Sport.
The price of this model is expected to be around USD 2 million, still a lot less than the Bugatti Grand Sport Vitesse. The project is still in early days and it will be a while before we get to know all the details; unfortunately even then it will be available only in China.
