- Can seat up to eight people
- All wheel drive will be available on certain models
Kia has just unveiled its largest SUV at the 2019 Detroit Motor Show. Based on the Hyundai Palisade, the Telluride can seat up to eight people across its three rows of seats. All eight passengers are pampered by means of a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 630W 10-speaker Harman/Kardon sound system, wireless phone charging, self-levelling rear suspension, reclining third-row seats, and Nappa leather seats with heating and ventilation in the first and second rows. Also a driver talk system allows the driver to communicate with second- and third-row passengers via a built-in microphone.
Powering the SUV is a 3.8-litre V6 engine turning out 291bhp of power at 6000rpm and 355Nm of torque at 5200rpm. An eight-speed automatic transmission and front-wheel drive are standard, while all-wheel drive will be available on some models.
The Telluride will be launched internationally later this year and knowing India's affinity for SUVs, Kia might just consider bringing it on to Indian shores by 2020.
