- Based on the Hyundai Tucson
- Gets new LED headlamps, new grille
- Tablet touchscreen might be added
The Kia Sportage is a premium five-seater SUV based on the Hyundai Tucson, Launched globally in 2015, it is due for an update and the test-mules have been spotted near the Nurburgring in Germany. Since Kia is developing the all-new Kia SP for India, we think the new Sportage might have some influence on the Creta-based SP.
The new quad-LED headlamp setup with the projector lens between them look premium. Called the ‘ice cube’, these headlamps would look handsome on the SP. As for the Sportage, along with the new set of headlamps, the bumper in the front has been completely redesigned and so has been the rear bumper.
On the inside, the Sportage will get a new tablet-screen display which has become a standard on all new Kia cars, the one that will also be on the Kia SP SUV to be offered in India. As for the powertrains, the 1.6-litre GDi might be replaced entirely by the new 1.4-litre turbo-petrol to keep the emissions in check.
