- SP Concept based SUV to be launched in the second half of 2019
- Official name to be revealed at the time of launch
- To get signature Kia tiger-nose grille, sleek headlamps and a silver bash plate
Kia has announced its plans to launch the SP Concept based SUV in India in the second half of 2019. The SUV is currently in the development phase and will be officially named at the time of its launch. Earlier this year, Kia Motors had showcased the SP Concept at the Auto Expo event, where the orange coloured SUV grabbed attention at the event.
Recently a mysterious test mule was spotted on test in Hyderabad and it is likely to be the production-ready version of the SP Concept. The SUV will be the first vehicle to be produced at the company’s facility in Anantapur, Andhra Pradesh. Based on what could be seen, the production-spec model is expected to get the signature Kia tiger-nose grille, sleek headlamps and a silver bash plate for a sporty stance. The vehicle featured chunky C-pillars and will be offered in dual-tone combination.
As for the interior, the vehicle featured a beige and silver scheme. The concept vehicle featured dual LCD display for the instrument cluster and the infotainment system. The climate control system also featured a digital display, however, the production version might get a black and white unit. The production model is also expected to be offered with a three-spoke steering wheel. Mechanical details are not known for now and it will be revealed at a later date.
