-First car from Kia for India
-16 versions and three engine options across two trims
The Kia Seltos will be launched in the Indian market tomorrow. This is the first car for the country from the automaker and will be offered in 16 version, three engines and across two trim levels. We have already driven the car and you read about that here and watch our video for the same at the bottom of this story.
The Seltos was first showcased as the SP concept at the 2018 Auto Expo with a production ready model being revealed earlier this year. The Seltos will be offered in two trims, GT-line and HT-line, with each of them bearing specialised design elements to match their tags. However, the GT-line is the sportier of the two. Design highlights of the Seltos include the signature Tiger nose Kia grille, head lamps and tail lamps as well as the design of the alloy wheels.
Inside, on the top spec models, you get leather upholstery, climate control, mood lighting, touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, air purifier and a 360-degree surround camera.
The Seltos will be offered with three engine options- a 1.5-litre petrol and diesel as well as a 1.4-litre GDi petrol. Both the 1.5-litre engines get a six-speed manual as standard along with a CVT for the petrol and AT for the diesel. The GDi engine can only be had with a seven-speed dual clutch transmission. We have looked at the engines in detail and you can read about that here. The Seltos’ dimensions are 4.3-metersX1.8-metersX1.62-meters. The wheelbase stands at 2.61-meters which puts it third among its rivals.
The Kia Seltos is a direct rival to the likes of the Hyundai Creta, Nissan Kicks, Renault Captur as well as the Renault Duster.Â
