The Kia Seltos will be launched for the Indian car market on August 22. It’s the South Korean automaker’s first vehicle for India and is being produced from a factory built in Anatapur district of Andhra Pradesh. It was officially unveiled on June 20
The Seltos will be offered with three engine options- a 1.5-litre petrol and diesel as well as a 1.4-litre GDi petrol. Both the 1.5-litre engines get a six-speed manual as standard along with a CVT for the petrol and AT for the diesel. The GDi engine can only be had with a seven-speed dual clutch transmission. The Seltos’ dimensions are 4.3-metersX1.8-metersX1.62-meters. The wheelbase standard at 2.61-meters which put its third among its rivals.
Highlights of the design scheme include the tiger nose grille, shoulder line, lighting package as well as the design of the alloy wheels. There’s two design schemes- GT-Line and the Tech Line with the former being a sporty outlook for the Seltos while the latter is a conventional setup aimed at family buyers.
Inside, the Seltos gets a beige and brown setup and is feature loaded to the gills. There’s climate control, 10.25-inch display for the touchscreen system, heads up display, Bose sound system, sound mood lamp and connected car technologies.
The safety feature list is quite comprehensive with six airbags, ABS with EBD, traction control, stability management programme, blind spot monitor, front and rear parking sensors and a surround view monitor.
The Seltos is the first SUV from the South Korean automaker that will take on the likes of the Hyundai Creta, Nissan Kicks and the Renault Duster.
