- Kia Seltos will be unveiled in India on 20 June.
- It is expected to fall under the Rs 12-16 lakhs (ex-showroom) price bracket.
- The Seltos is likely to get BS-VI ready engines at launch.
That the Kia Seltos is set for its official unveiling in India on 20 June, is already known. However, ahead of its global debut, interiors of the India-spec Seltos have been leaked yet again. The new set of spy shots reveal the large 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment and the integrated twin-pod instrument cluster of SUV.
Although heavily covered, the Kia Seltos test mule can be seen with a black finish to the dashboard along with silver accents. However, official design sketches have revealed that the mid-size SUV will get dual-tone black/brown treatment to the cabin. The spy shots also show a large driver information system between the dials, which will display data like driving range, mileage, odometer, temperature, gear-position indicator and much more.
The test mule looks like an automatic variant, as can be seen on the MID. The SUV was spied testing in Mumbai, and the prototype has done over 15,000kms on the odometer. Exteriors of the Kia Seltos were heavily camouflaged. However, the design of the Seltos was leaked last month during its TVC shoot.
The Kia Seltos will reportedly be offered with BS-VI ready turbocharged 1.5-litre petrol and diesel engines at launch, along with manual and automatic transmissions. These powertrains will comply with the upcoming emission norms closer to the April 2020 deadline. There's also talk about the availability of a sportier petrol variant that will employ a 1.4-litre TGDI direct injection petrol motor that will be rated to develop 140bhp. It will come mated to a 7-speed DCT. This particular version will feature stiffer suspension and sharp handling.
The Seltos is likely to be priced between Rs 12-16 lakhs (ex-showroom). At this price point, the SUV will compete against the Hyundai Creta, Tata Harrier, Mahindra XUV500 and entry variants of Jeep Compass and MG Hector. Kia Seltos is expected to go on sale in India in the months to come.
