Post much wait, Kia finally revealed its first car for India, the Seltos. The made for India product, the Seltos will be available in two petrol and one diesel engine option. The Kia Seltos will get BS-VI compliant engines at the time of its launch, later this year in the country.
The Kia Seltos will get the segment first 1.4 Turbo GDI engine that will come mated to a seven-speed DCT transmission. Apart from this, the Kia Seltos will also get a 1.5-litre, four-cylinder engine in both petrol and diesel guise. The 1.5-litre engines get a six-speed manual as standard, while the petrol trim can be had with CVT option and the diesel gets a six-speed torque converter option.
The vehicle will have three drive modes – Normal, Eco and Sport. The Eco mode is reportedly tuned to maximise vehicle range by using fuel-saving measures, while the Sport increases responses from the steering and electric motor to provide a dynamic driving feel. The Eco mode offers a fine balance between the two. The driver can also choose from different driving modes like mud, wet and sand, to drive with suitable grip control.
