The Kia brand name has been doing the rounds in India and there has been a buzz surrounding Hyundai’s sibling brand and how it is going to perform in India. Well to kick things off, the automaker has unveiled its SP concept SUV at the 2018 Auto Expo. It’s a new D-segment car and in production form, it will enter the same slot as its sibling the Hyundai Creta.
The concept car is a bright orange and the right size for that segment. On the face of things, there's the signature Kia tiger nose grille, sleek head lamps and silver bash plate -elements that give the SP its unique look. The glass section narrows down at the rear and gives the car a unique look thanks to the chunky C-pillars and the white coloured roof. At the rear, you can’t miss the wedge-like wrap around tail lamps and the large chrome strip running across both brake lamps. The car gets a muscular stance thanks to the large x.xx-inch wheels which sport a star-like design and have been painted in orange and white.
The grey interiors are standard Kia fare and borrow most of the design cues from the current crop of Kia cabins found in cars like the Niro and the much larger Sorento. There is no word on power trains of any kind but we believe that Kia will offer a range of four-cylinder petrol and diesel engines as well as AT and MT options for both fuel variants.
