The Kia ProCeed, the third vehicle in the Ceed lineup,is an amalgamation between the practicality offered by a sports-wagon and the elegance of a coupe. The ProCeed is the only Shooting Brake body style in the C-segment, and offers unparalleled performance and luxury.
Its design is stylish, daring and definitely distinct. The Kia ProCeed was developed as a radically emotional derivative to the Kia Ceed, with enhancements in the design department in lieu of functionality and practicality. The ProCeed is based on two fundamental principles – Design and Functionality.
The design is emphasised by a fast-sloping roofline and a lower height, which offers a low, lean and lithe stance .The lowered height and DLO (day light opening) offers more body surface than glass area, which creates a very sporty silhouette. The twin-layered tiger nose grille, LED headlamps with 'ice cube' LED daytime running lights and wide lower air intake proclaim its sporty styling. Adding some flair to the profile are the standard 17-inch alloy wheels (18-inch wheels are optional) and sporty side-sill mouldings with contrast colour accents. The satin chrome finish on the window beltline emphasises the dramatic silhouette. The design centres on the tailgate with the connected LED DRL’s, making a powerful statement. Styling is further elevated by the dual exhaust pipes that create a dynamic impression on the road.
The interior design is modern, elegant and sporty in every sense, with premium materials and top-notch finish. It is achieved by using soft-touch plastics, satin chrome elements across the interior trim and contrast red stitching on the steering wheel, shift knob and door pads. Modern features like 7 or 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, exquisitely crafted black leather/Alcantara seats and the sporty D-cut steering wheel add to the sheer dynamism of the cabin.
Practicality is enhanced by the 594-liter boot space capacity, which is 200-litres more than the Ceed hatchback and 30-litres less than the wagon.
Customers can choose between three trim levels – GT-Line, GT-Line S and GT – across three engines and two gearbox options. The ProCeed GT is available with a 1.6-litre T-GDI turbocharged petrol engine that makes 201bhp and 265 Nm and is mated with a 7-speed DCT with paddle shifters.
The GT-Line is offered with a choice of a 1.4-litre T-GDI petrol motor that puts out 140bhp and 242 Nm. It comes with a 6-speed manual or a 7-speed DCT transmission. The sole diesel offering is a 1.6-litre CRDi turbocharged motor that generates 134bhp and is available with both manual and automatic transmissions.
It is equipped with some of the latest cutting-edge technological features like Forward Collision Avoidance (FCA), radar-based Rear Cross Traffic Collision Warning, Smart Power Tailgate, Heated Front Seats and Smart Parking Assist. Completing the package is an 8-speaker JBL Sound System that offers a premium driving experience making the ProCeed a quintessential sporty ‘Shooting Brake’ body style.
