- To be introduced alongside the new-gen Carnival
- Will arrive in a single fully loaded variant
Ahead of its price reveal scheduled to take place on 3 October, Kia India has teased the new EV9 electric SUV for the first time. This new premium offering will make its debut in the country with the new-gen Carnival.
As seen in the teaser, the Kia EV9 will retain the silhouette of the global-spec car. Set to arrive in the country via the CBU route, it will be available in a single fully loaded variant at launch. This will be the second electric offering after the EV6, the latter of which is expected to get a facelift for the Indian market in the near future.
The 2024 Kia EV9, which will go on to become the new flagship car for the brand in the Indian market, will boast design elements like a blanked-off grille, 21-inch alloy wheels, and GT-spec front and rear bumpers. It is expected to receive features like connected car technology, Level 2 ADAS suite, 360-degree camera, multi-zone climate control, powered tailgate, lounge function for the second row, electrically adjustable seats, and ventilated seats for the second row.
The India-spec EV9 is likely to be powered by a 99.9kWh battery pack paired with two electric motors in the AWD guise. Generating 379bhp and 700Nm, it has a claimed range of 445km on a single full charge. Additionally, a 350kW charger can juice up the battery from 10-80 per cent in 24 minutes.
