- Voluntary recall initiated by Kia India
- Recall due to potential error with ICCU
Kia India has voluntarily recalled the EV6, its sole electric and flagship offering for the local market. The automaker will be reaching out to customers of the cars that could be affected as a part of the recall. Alternatively, customers can get in touch with their respective dealers for the same.
According to Kia, the recall concerns 1,138 units of the EV6 manufactured between 3 March, 2022 and 14 April, 2023. The recall is prompted by a potential error in the Integrated Charging Control Unit (ICCU), which may affect the performance of the 12V auxiliary battery.
While the EV6 is the only electric car sold in India at the moment, Kia is confirmed to introduce the EV9 electric SUV in India. The car has already been spotted testing in India on multiple occasions. The three-row EV will be launched in India in the current financial year.
