- Kia showcased the pre-facelift Carnival in India last year
- New facelifted Carnival could arrive in early 2024
Kia India has commenced local testing of the 2024 Carnival in the country ahead of its launch which is expected to take place early next year. New spy shots give us the first look at a single unit of the fully camouflaged test mule.
As seen in the images here, the Kia Carnival facelift gets inverted L-shaped DRLs that run into the new grille design, tweaked front bumper, wide air dam, A-pillar-mounted ORVMs, shark-fin antenna, new alloy wheels, and roof rails. Elsewhere, it is expected to get a reworked rear bumper, silver finish for the C-pillar, and an LED light bar on the tailgate.
Inside, the new Carnival facelift is likely to get a redesigned dashboard with the centre console slightly tilted towards the driver seat. Dominating the dashboard will be two 12.3-inch screens, one each for the infotainment system and the driver’s console. Further, it will get a new three-spoke steering wheel, panel below the infotainment screen that can switch between AC and touchscreen functions, HUD, 14.6-inch screens for second-row occupants, and a fingerprint authentication system. Also up for offer will be an ADAS suite.
Under the hood, the facelifted Kia Carnival is expected to source power from the same 2.2-litre diesel engine from the outgoing car. The output is likely to be revised though, with the revised numbers being 191bhp and 441Nm of torque, compared to the 197bhp and 440Nm from the current-gen car. Apart from an increased fuel tank capacity of 72 litres, the 2024 Carnival is claimed to return a mileage of 13kmpl.
