- The Carens facelift will get a 360-degree camera
- Could arrive early next year
Kia India recently commenced testing of the Carens facelift in the country, ahead of its launch which is likely to take place early next year. The carmaker is currently working on two other products for a launch in 2024, namely the new-gen Carnival and the EV9.
Coming back to the Carens facelift, the new spy shots give us a look at the fascia of the updated MPV for the first time. Visible elements here include a new split headlamp design, redesigned front bumper, what looks to be an LED light bar below the bonnet, and two wide air dams. It also features a single-pane sunroof, roof rails, and a set of new dual-tone alloy wheels. Previous spy shots have already confirmed a set of new LED taillights.
The details regarding the interior of the 2025 Carens are scarce at the moment. The spy shot does reveal a blind spot camera on either side, further hinting that a 360-degree camera could be offered at launch. Also up for offer could be ventilated seats, Level 2 ADAS suite, and revised upholstery.
Powertrain options on the new Carens facelift are expected to remain unchanged compared to the outgoing car. The latter gets a 1.5-litre NA petrol motor, 1.5-litre diesel mill, and 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine. There will be an array of gearbox options to choose from, including six-speed manual, six-speed torque converter automatic, iMT, and seven-speed DCT units.
