Karun Chandhok has revealed that he will be making his third appearance at the Le Mans 24 Hours race with the Anglo-Irish racing outfit Murphy Prototypes, this year.
Karun will pilot the Oreca 03R Nissan-powered LMP2 car along with Nathaniel Berthon and Mark Patterson for Murphy Prototypes as they attempt to score a podium finish, this year. The 2015 edition of the prestigious Le Mans 24 Hours will be run on the weekend of June 13 and 14. It is conducted at the 13.6 kilometre long Circuit de la Sarthe, near the town of Le Mans in France.
The 31-year-old Chennaite will continue to race in the inaugural season of the single-seat, electric racing car series – the Formula E. Racing for the only Indian outfit on the grid - Mahindra Racing, Karun registered two strong finishes at the Beijing ePrix and Putrajaya ePrix by finishing fifth and sixth.
Speaking to AutoSport about his participation in Le Mans 24 Hours, Karun said, "I think I'm going to be part of a strong team with Nathanael and Mark. I believe the new coupes and older cars like ours will be evenly matched at Le Mans this year, so it's going to be all about reliability and making no mistakes.”
