‘Flying Huntsman' 6X6, yes that’s the name of this butch SUV with six wheels. Kahn Design, a British engineering company has worked on some Range Rovers and well, this macho SUV with six wheels is their handiwork.
The ‘Flying Huntsman’ is based on a Land Rover Defender stretched to accommodate those two extra wheels. It is 1,200mm longer than a standard LR Defender 110 and is wider by about 150mm.
It is powered by a LS3 6.2-litre V8 engine that makes 424bhp that goes through all those six wheels through a six-speed transmission.
The makers claim it will "outrun any road-going SUV." Well, it sure looks like it will and also has the hardware to do it, a low ratio transfer case, locking differentials and reworked suspension and upgraded brakes. While 424bhp seems more than sufficient power for off-roading, it might still be short on the road, to outrun some powerful SUVs that might beat it to its claim.
This is still a concept according to Kahn Design and with Mercedes selling all of its G63 AMG 6X6 we are more than sure they might be pursued by some to put it to production. Do you like the way the ‘Flying Huntsman’ looks?
