The upcoming four-door Jeep Wrangler has been spied with a new roof top. This confirms earlier rumours about the brand working on new options for the roof.
On closer inspection, this Jeep Wrangler seems to have a three-piece hardtop. At the moment it remains unclear if this set-up supports removal of just the first two, or all the roof panels to make for an open-air experience. Nevertheless, sources reveal that this is just one of the several roof-top options that are expected to make their way into the new Wrangler. It is believed that the model could also come with an optional glass roof and a retractable fabric roof.
Reports also suggest that Jeep is looking to incorporate a significant amount of aluminium in the construction of the new Wrangler to reduce weight and improve the dynamics. Powering the upcoming Wrangler will be the Pentastar V6 motor, along with a more fuel efficient 2.0-litre turbocharged motor, codenamed the Hurricane. There’s also a possibility of the 3.0-litre V6 turbodiesel motor finding its way into this application, especially for the North American market.
Stay tuned for more information as the new Wrangler is expected to hit showrooms before the end of 2017.
