It’s been two months since Fiat announced that it will bring Jeep line up in India and a week since the Jeep Grand Cherokee and Wrangler were caught testing in Pune. Now, a member of Team-Bhp has spotted the same fully registered test vehicles in Pune.
The Wrangler will be powered by 2.8 litre engine that will produce peak power of 200bhp and 460Nm of torque whereas the Grand Cherokee will be powered by 3.0 litre turbo-diesel V6 that produces 237bhp and 550Nm of Torque.
Fiat is expected to launch the iconic Jeep Wrangler and the Jeep Grand Cherokee in the third quarter of 2013 and both vehicles will be launched as CBUs initially. Jeep also plans to launch a compact SUV in 2015 and India will be one of the first markets where the vehicle will make its debut. Eventually, the American SUV maker plans to bring its complete portfolio here.
