A camouflaged Jeep Renegade has been spotted on test near Ahmednagar in Maharashtra. It is covered in the same camouflage common with Fiat’s test vehicles and has been spotted on multiple occasions.
The Jeep Renegade is the American SUV maker’s entry-level vehicle in its lineup and is based on the same platform and underpinnings as the Fiat 500X. It was launched in 2014 and is currently on sale both in Europe and America. It is offered with a range of petrol and diesel engines both of which get AT and MT options.
Fiat has been testing the Renegade in India for a while now but has never, till date, confirmed a launch date for this entry-level vehicle. We believe that Fiat will bring the Renegade to India but only if its starts local assembly so that the prices will allow it to be slotted into the D-segment area of Rs 15 lakh to Rs 20 lakh.
