Jeep has privately showcased some of their cars to customers in Kerala. The cars that were shown were the Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT and the Wrangler Unlimited.
The Grand Cherokee SRT is an SUV powered by a 6.4-litre Hemi V8 petrol mill that belts out 469bhp of power. The engine comes mated to an eight-speed automatic gearbox and the car features paddle shifters and a four-wheel drive system. On the other hand, the Wrangler Unlimited is powered by a 3.6-litre V6 petrol unit that churns out 281bhp of power and 353Nm of torque. Transmission options include a five-speed automatic or a six-speed manual gearbox.
Jeep is a Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) owned American SUV specialist planning to enter the Indian market since quite some time. The company will showcase its entire lineup of vehicles at the upcoming Auto Expo and later commence its operations in our country. We can expect the manufacturer to start selling the Grand Cherokee and Wrangler Unlimited to India through the CBU route in the beginning. Later, a C-segment SUV will be manufactured out of the company’s Ranjangaon plant and will be added to the company's Indian portfolio.
